The Artist

A native of San Diego, California, Alfred has lived a life as varied and colorful as his paintings. From working as an Arizona cowpuncher to building a career as a golf professional, his many pursuits have always shared one constant — art.

Through every chapter of his life, Alfred has kept a brush or pencil in hand, working in graphite, watercolor, oil, and bronze. It is, simply put, his favorite thing to do.

He paints from both an outdoor studio and a studio in his office, and has a deep love for plein air work — painting on location, directly from life. His oils are built with an impasto touch, rich with texture and immediacy, while his watercolors carry the freshness of the moment they were made.
